A new printer is about to be launched by our friends at Epson and we only have to wait till March to lay our hands on one! If all that we read is to be believed, I think the future just got brighter for all us photographers and artists!
Thanks to the new Epson Stylus Photo R3000 all professionals and enthusiasts will need to ‘make do’ no longer and I for one can’t wait to be able to print out accurate representative colours and contrasts, finally.
According to recent articles on the Internet grapevine, Epson are planning to launch their printer, which boasts a brand new ‘Vivid Magenta’ ink technology in addition to an evolutionary micro Piezo printing head. The new printer is set to appear in the stores in March 2011 (RRP to be announced).
The latest reports on the upper end Stylus Photo R3000 all seem to agree that printing output can be enjoyed of nothing less than gallery standard in not only black and white printing but colour too. Complete with the broadest of colour gamuts, this is a printer endeavouring to deliver incredible depths of hue with sublime transitions. This is all music to my ears!
As well as supporting the new individual high capacity cartridges from Epson it has been developed to receive a range of paper sizes (up to 13 inches wide) and types (including glossy, matte and speciality fine art paper).

Hot off the Epson press release trail for this New Year is that concerning a brilliant printer that is the answer to all our cost cutting prayers.
Travelling in its very own Tardis, the Epson WorkForce 840 has arrived in 2011 with what promises to be the fastest double-sided printing capability than has ever been witnessed previously. Such double side printing efficiency could very well be the virtue all small businesses have prayed for.
The WorkForce 840 is just what the smaller operation with a higher volume printout needs and as usual Epson have picked up on this and once more, come up with the goods. If you run a small office or operate an enterprise from out of your home, this cost effective high printout solution could be worth a go!
Smaller offices will be attracted to this compact and perfectly formed ‘all-in-one’ printer. In terms of efficiency the WorkForce 840 ticks yet more boxes with its five hundred-page tray capacity for easy efficient ream-by-ream printing.
On the subject of speed, how fast does it actually go? Single sided printing happens at a rate of 15 ppm (black) and 9.3 ppm (colour). Double-sided output occurs at a rate of 7.4 ppm (black) and 5.4 ppm (colour).
The Epson WorkForce 840 comes equipped with a generous 3.5 inch high resolution colour LCD which along with touch control panel (7.8 inch) allows for easy access to the various print functions it has on offer. The feather in the cap is however the built-in automatic 30-page double sided document feeder for easy scanning, copying and faxing.
As well as being small and fast, there are several more features about the WorkForce 840 including the USB port and built in memory card slots.
With a new Epson WorkForce 840, not only will you save money, your office will instantly become more efficient in terms of energy and output.
When ordering your WorkForce brand new your machine will come equipped with extra high capacity ink cartridges allowing for up to 1000 pages of printing. Using less power than your average laser printer, the WorkForce will require seventy per cent of your previous energy commitments. Thanks to its double sided printing capability the WorkForce contributes further to saving money as paper costs will be reduced by half.
